HISTORY OF EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI

Ebonyi State University Alumni dates back to 2005 when the university had its first graduate mobilized for compulsory national youth service. EBSU graduates across the states of the federation are endeared to hard work, diligence and excellence.

The inauguration of first executive of EBSU alumni in 2007 under the leadership of Victor Nwankwo kick started a down of new era. The government only existed on paper as no impact of their existence was ever felt. However, another bold step at enthroning functional alumni was taken in 2010 with the emergence of Hon. Amaechi Igwe.

In a bid to breathe new air into the association in April 2015, a brand new leadership headed by Chief Ereke Kerneth emerged in a well contested election.

The new government is on course to reposition and rejuvenate the moribund alumni. They took the bull by the horn by first constituting a constitution drafting committee headed by Hon. Nwaze Ernest, with the charge of the national executive for the committee to submit their report in one month.

The committee worked tirelessly and in less than a month, a draft constitution was submitted to the national executive and on August 4th, the constitution was presented to the vice- chancellor.

The national executive is now planning for its maiden home coming of the entire Alumnus scheduled to hold on 23rd to 24th October, 2015.

MISSION: the mission of this brand new alumni is to form a rallying hub for EBSU graduates to partner the university in building a citadel of excellence that match world class standard.

VISION: to be among the leading alumni in the country where excellence and development is enthroned.
